The West End is THE heart of Atlanta in the eyes of many. It boasts historical sites such as The Wrens Nest (home of Joel Chandler Harris the writer of the Uncle Remus books), The Hammonds House Museum (one of the 3 oldest houses in the West End), The Historic West Hunter Street Baptist Church, and most importantly the Atlanta University Center consisting of the most historic HBCU’s (Historically Black Colleges & Universities) in the Country to include Spelman College, Morehouse College, Morris Brown University, Clark Atlanta University & The ITC (Interdenominational Theological Center). The west end is also notorious for The shrine of The Black Madonna and a plethora of Vegan and Vegetarian restaurants including Tassili’s Raw Reality, Wadada, Soul Vegetarian, UniTea & Coffee, Healthful Essence, Bakari’s Plant-Based Pizza Vegan Dream Donuts, Hebrew Bakes and Slutty Vegan. There are also brewery’s and restaurants along Lee & White and the West End Beltline trail. This tour is 90 minutes and costs $90 per person.
